OLIVE OIL TASTING IN MOUNTAIN WINERY FROM SPLIT, CROATIA

Try several olive oils in the mountain vineyard producing award winning wines and olive oil. You will be introduced into the history of olive oil production in Croatia, try 4 different olive oil styles (virgin, extra virgin, varietal and blend), taste several specialty oils (truffle, rosemary, sage…), visit one of the oldest olive trees in the world and Biblical Garden followed by wine tasting in a vineyard with local ingredients. Kuzmanic winery is an ecological wine estate on the slopes of Kozjak mountain dating back to the beginning of 18th century. Among their award winning wines they produce small quantities of olive oil, still produced in the old fashioned way so this is a perfect chance to taste several types of olive oils and premium 100% estate grown indigenous wines.

PROGRAM:

-Drive to one of the oldest olive trees in the world, 1500-1700 years old unique Mastrinka

-Visit to Kuzmanic winery for some grappa and 2 white wines

-walk through vineyards and olive orchards to the Biblical Garden with an olive tree blessed by the Pope Wojtyla and small vineyard planted with Zinfandel and it’s 11 genetic cousins (weather dependent)

-Olive oil tasting followed by cheese and prosciutto in Kuzmanic winery with 2 red wines
